Sunny Slope Farm

Vacation rental by owner for your New Hampshire vacation rental

or New England family vacation

Charming Family Farm, Vacation Rental and Retreat

Sunny Slope Farm  is a lovely 200 year-old, four-season family farm located on an old country road in the very heart of the Lakes Region of NH. The big white house, big red barn and big white stable sit at the bottom of a hayfield on 282 lovely acres that are traversed by miles of hiking, riding and cross-country ski trails that meander through fields & woodlands, over brooks and past a wild beaver pond.

The fully modernized farmhouse is also fully furnished, with many antiques and fine, comfortable furniture; a piano; two fireplaces; two porches (one screened-in); a kitchen/library deck with a stone fireplace, a gas grill & a new 5-6 person hot tub; and a fully equipped kitchen, with china & silver for your special occasion and a big round pine table for your cozy family breakfast next to the woodstove.

A Four-Season Retreat,

perfect for a holiday vacation, a special family gathering, a wedding or a second honeymoon. Sunny Slope itself has the use of a one-acre pond ~ great for fishing or skating ~ a blueberry hill bursting to the seams in late July, and fragrant hayfields that are perfect for a wedding in the autumn or family sledding parties in the winter.

Autumn offers leaf-peepers

Rest, Relax, Enjoy a Classic New England Farm

Sunny Slope Farm  is our family home, the house where our father & his brothers and sisters grew up, and we do still use it for family gatherings and special events. Our family and our many cousins, who “grew up” on the farm and celebrated many a family reunion here, still come to stay whenever they can. We have been very pleased, though, that in the three years that we have been inviting guests to come and stay at the farm, we have had nothing but wonderful families and gatherings, and it has been a blessing all round for everyone concerned. Sunny Slope Farm is happiest and healthiest with families and friends gathered on its porches and around its tables and fireplaces. It has always been a welcoming and restful home, filled with celebrations.

And join us at The Yoga Raw Retreats coming up at Sunny Slope Farm this June!

Sunny Slope is such a lovely

place, especially for families to  gather. And that is exactly what we

are hoping for in the occasional rental of our family farm ~ that it be filled with families. We want folks to come to feel as if Sunny Slope Farm were their family retreat as much as it is ours. We want the farm to be as comfortable for your family & friends as it is for ours.

Our greatest wish is that this lovely place may be a welcoming home to both first time and returning visitors, where they can relax, play and enjoy being together. May this be a retreat for those in need of solitude, a festive hall for those who want to celebrate, and a portal to the wonders of this region for those who want to explore.

Please

and for the June

Yoga Raw Retreat!

We do so hope that your family will be able to gather here at Sunny Slope Farm very soon! We hope that you ~ couple or family, one or many ~ will all feel as welcome here as any member of our family would. And, may it be a dream come true for each dream that finds its way here.

There are approximately 5 miles of trails available for snowmobiling, snowshoeing (of which we have 7 pair of varying sizes, available for the use of our guests...it's fun! Try it!), cross-country skiing, or for easy summer hiking over a brook and through the woods to a lovely old beaver pond deep in the woods ~ a perfect spot for critter-watching.

And if any of your family & guests are interested in horse-back riding on the trails of Sunny Slope, guided trail rides can be arranged with the local horsefolks if provision is made in advance. There are also carriages, wagons, sleighs, & sleds available and all of these can be put to use for carriage or sleigh rides (lovely for a wedding celebration!), by pre-arrangement.

Sunny Slope Farm is so lovely, you could easily spend every minute on the land and be ecstatic at the end of your stay, but, just in case you’re more in the mood to venture forth, the Lakes Region is full to the brim with year-round activities. Rivers and lakes abound for kayaking and canoeing, and Lake Winnipesaukee ~ with its 400 miles of shore line, hundreds of tufty little islands, cozy coves and many classic lake towns ~ is internationally known for its fresh-water wreck diving. This lovely region of rolling hills and crystal-clear waters is also home to many historic and cultural sites, as well as many fine dining and shopping opportunities. Summer is over-flowing with music, theatre & fireworks all around the Lake.

And if you prefer the sea to the lakes...Portsmouth, the NH seacoast, and Kittery & York, Maine, with their beautiful beaches and plethora of theatre, music, shopping, architecture & history, are only about 45 mins. away.

Sunny Slope Farm's

street address is
