We loved staying at Sunny Slope Farm!It has everything we could possibly need. We had 7 adults and 1 child (3 years old) and we had so much space. We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace at night in the library playing boardgames, making breakfast and all of us eating around the large living room table, relaxing in the hot tub, reading on the screened in porch, playing croquet on the huge lawns, etc, etc...A couple things to note:1. There are only 2 bathrooms (and only one with a tub) but we didn't have any trouble with that (but may have if we had more people).2. If you have very young children you should be careful because there are 2 sets of steep stairs and lots of stuff they could get into. But the owners do have a child gate there to use and you can limit access to the second stairs. If worked out just fine for us with our little one.The house is beautiful (even better than the pictures). We loved it!! And we will definitely return!

"Home for the Holidays", was the feeling we all had at Sunnyslope Farm. The bonus was we had lots of snow! Great skiing at Gunstock and family time at the farm. As always the house was perfect as was your hospitality. Will try to come up in the summer and enbjoy all of the farm and area. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. The Masse Clan of CT, DE and KY.

Owner's Response: Thanks, Jane! The snow was lovely, and it was also great to have all of you here at Sunny Slope Farm for Christmas again! We hope to see you & the family during the warm days this year! Blessings on your 2009! Deanna

Deanna,I wanted to thank you on behalf of myself and all of my friends who stayed at sunny slope this past bike week.It was so great to have all the amenities, especially a fully applianced kitchen with all the pots and pans bakeware etc, (as I always get stuck cooking) I can't even begin to describe how comfortable we all were, so nice to come back home and I mean HOME from a day of riding. To sit down by a fire on the porch have a great family style meal together and hop in the hot tub to relax. We all loved it and I can't wait to do it next year. Thanks so much.we'll see you in June of "09".

It was the perfect Christmas at Sunnyslope Farm, even without any snow! It was ideal for our group with 18 for dinner on Christmas Eve. The house, location, amenities and overall charm far exceeded our expectations. We have rented many a place for vacation, and thats what they were just a rental...Not Sunnyslope Farm. The house is out of an old movie or a New England postcard with lots of charm, character, history and warmth, thank you for the touches of Christmas throughout! With its many rooms and cozy areas there was plenty of "space" for everyone(inside and out) and oooohlets not forget to mention the feather bedding, wonderful. We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it highly to anyone. THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AND SHARING YOUR HOME.The Masse Clan from Kentucky, Delaware, Maine and Connecticut Owner's

Response: Oh Masse Clan! You are so welcome, And you far exceeded our expectations with your courtesy, appreciation and your wonderful care of Sunny Slope Farm! We look forward to seeing you next Christmas, and maybe even in the warmer days as well (you should see Sunny Slope in June...or September...or August, luscious August!)!

Dear Deanna,Our family was so delighted that we discovered Sunny Slope Farm. Although we have been camping for years at a campsite next to Lake Winnipesauke, we never imagined that we could be so much more comfortable and have so much fun just a few minutes away at Sunny Slope! You have done a wonderful job of maintaining the warmth, comfort, & fascination of your family home with its rich and inspiring multi-generational history. For all 3 generations of our family, there was something especially inviting and appealing at Sunny Slope. We really appreciate your warm hospitality and hope to visit with you again next year!Isabel & Lester and the rest of our “Sunny Slope” clan

Owner's Response: Isabel & Lester, you immediately felt just like family, and we are delighted you will be a part of our future as one of our "family of families". We so very much look forward to seeing all of you again as soon as possible! Deanna

I can not say enough about the wonderful accommodations at Sunny Slope. Deanna did such a good job with the contract and making arrangements for us to stay. My entire family enjoyed a week at the farm this August. We were busy preparing for my daughter's wedding in Wolfeboro, and the house was the perfect size for our family. It had everything we needed, and gave us a place to come for fun during the preparations for the big day. Thank you very much, Deanna. We definitely want to come back again. Susan and the Bliss's

Owner's Response: Thanks so much Susan for all the kind words! Bliss is the ideal name for your family! We look forward to seeing all of you every year here at Sunny Slope Farm (at least if Craig & Jen have any say in the matter!)

I just got home from 5 days of Bliss at Sunny Slope. We were there for a family wedding and our whole family (The Bliss Family :) stayed at Sunny Slope. It is a beautiful place to stay! I loved the big barn, the hot tub, all the old books in the library and all the different rooms in the house. The kitchen was well stocked and I was glad to see that all the recycling was setup and maintained so well. The grounds were beautiful and it was very nice to have a grocery store so close!! We had a great time and we would love to come back and stay again.Karen Bliss Stoddard

Owner's Response: Oh Bliss Family, you so completely live up to your name!Deanna

Sunny Slopes Farm was a great fit for our family & friends. We were all very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We especially enjoyed the visits from your neighbors’ donkey. I think more pictures were taken of him than of our family get-together! We enjoyed preparing our Halloween party dinner in your well-equipped kitchen--it seemed every need had been anticipated. Our visit was much too short. We did not get a chance to enjoy the hiking trails or the hot tub, but look forward to both and much more when we return next year. Thank you Deanna for making our stay at Sunny Slopes Farm such a wonderful memory!

Owner's Response: Donkey! The little escapee! He's always a favorite. Thanks so much for your sweet comments, both here and in the comment book at the farm! We're so pleased you had such a wonderful time at Sunny Slope, and we too look forward to your next visit! Deanna

Dear Deanna: The extended Lewis family had a lovely time together at Sunny Slope Farm. We especially enjoyed the front porch, big family dinners around the dining table, and group hikes on the trails. The kids loved the barn and all the nooks and crannies. We were sad to leave but will always have the memories. Owner's Response: And we hope many more will be made in the future! You are all so welcome back to Sunny Slope Farm anytime!

My Wife and I and our children just returned from Sunny Slope Farm and it was a dream vacation. We enjoyed the tranquility and the beauty of the land as well as waking up to see a horse in our yard. We watched deer running up the hill and pheasant playing in the fields. We went on plenty of daytripsand also celebrated my sons 19th Birthday while at Sunny Slope Farm. All the while I felt as though we were home, of course we did not want to leave but we will be back next year.Thank you Deanna for being such a gracious host and for giving us a little piece of heaven for a while.LoveNeal & Lisa Gallagher Owner's Response: Neal & Lisa,You were all divine guests and we are so very happy to welcome you to our family of families! See you next year!

Dear Deanna,From our very first contact, it has been a pleasure to discover our mutual love and respect for the land and all God’s creatures which abide there. I like to think the Lord plays a part in helping us to “connect” with people and places that bring joy to our hearts, harmony to our souls and peace to our minds. Sunny Slope and all the people associated with it do just that. We truly enjoyed staying in your wonderful family home surrounded by the loving memories you kindly shared with us during our “welcome tour”. We felt honored to be entrusted with the priceless family treasures in the house and barns. It made us feel like long lost family welcomed back to the fold after a long absence. We look forward to our return visit next February.Sincerely,Mary Martin

Owner's Response: Blessings, Mary & Matt! Thank you so much for your kind words. It's easy to feel welcome such wonderful and considerate guests! We are so happy to have you join our family of families! We too are looking forward to your return next winter! xo, Deanna

We were married at Sunny Slope on August 21st 2004. We hadn't thought the hurricane season would be a problem, but Charley dumped his parting deluge through the night before and the through the day of the wedding. Our plans to marry beneath a tree amongst the wild flowers and grasses of the upper field at Sunny Slope had to be re-thought, the ride in one of the handful of carriages available at the farm, cancelled as it was simply too muddy and wet.We had a big tent on the front lawn so had to come up with a 'Plan B'. Deanna, who had been racing around for us in her now drenched slicker the entire morning, enrolled a couple of our friends into creating a beautifully decorated tent pole which became the center-piece of our ceremony.

We could have rented elsewhere and had a cookie-cutter, impersonal wedding.Instead, we came to Sunny Slope where Deanna and Tim were as much invested in the success of not only our wedding day, but our family vacation at the farm, as we were.It was the first time our families had met and the cozy, homey atmosphere that pervades Sunny Slope oozed out of the walls and wrapped itself around us. At times there were ten of us there and no one could sing praises high enough about the house, the farm, the horses, Deanna and Tim. This place is a must to bring your children, we let the boys sleep up in the hayloft of the barn, an adventure they will never forget. Our families got to know each other over big self catered dinners in the glorious dining room and on walks with the dogs throughthe never ending trails on the farm.

Everywhere was close, we had a day trip into the mountains, a day trip to the coast, a drive around the lake.Although our wedding wasn't exactly what we planned due to the non-cooperation of the weather, Sunny Slope more than made up for the rain and provided a wedding day that neither of us can find fault with.Come to Sunny Slope, but leave us a week every year to come back and remember.

Owner's Response: We love you, too, Marybeth & Andy! It was such a delight to welcome your families this summer, and such an honor that you decided to share your wedding day here with us at Sunny Slope Farm. This is exactly what God intended for Sunny Slope ~ a place for the gathering of families and for celebration ~ and we are so blessed to be able to share such a precious place with wonderful people like all of you. We feel like you guys are all a part of our family now, too, and we so look forward to seeing all of you again soon!xox, Deanna

We had our Wedding at Sunny Slope Farm on 4/24/04. All we can say is that we could not have picked a better place to begin our marriage. Deanna went way above and beyond to make our stay and wedding extra special. We have never felt so at home as we did at Sunny Slope Farm. We will and have highly recommended Sunny Slope to everyone. Deanna, you are a very special person and we want to personally thank you for all that you did before and during our stay. The farm and the horses are beautiful. It is close to the mountains and the seacoast for day trips and the lake is five minutes away. We stayed for three nights, but would have loved to stay longer. This is so much better than staying in any hotel. Our family and friends were so pleased with the views and beautiful farm, some of them want to vacation there in the future. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND SUNNY SLOPE FARM WITHOUT RESERVATION!!! Again, a huge Thank You to Deanna, You are what makes Sunny Slope so Special.

Owner's Response: Cindy & Dan, we were so honored that you chose Sunny Slope for your wedding! Thank you! And thank you so much for the kind words;you were wonderful guests, and we were happy as clams to help make your wedding visit as blessed and sweet as you deserved it to be. We look forward to many happy visits with you and yours in the future!Deanna

We met when my family and I stayed at the farm the weekend before Christmas. I just want to tell you how much we enjoyed the weekend. The space was wonderful, of course, but the welcomingtouches made our stay so memorable. From the festive candy to the assortment of teas, we felt pampered and lucky to be able to gather in such a comfortable home. Thank you so much.Wishing a happy and prosperous 2004 to all at Sunny Slope Farm.

Owner's Response: Deb! Thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement! It was a joy having your family at Sunny Slope Farm and we look forward to your visit next Christmas!
